Colusa County EduNet – The Colusa County EduNet is a project that will eventually provide every student in Colusa County safe and secure access to the internet at home. LTE Towers would be placed at schools throughout Colusa County that would leverage the connections from existing school networking to broadcast that access over LTE on a special Education Spectrum. Students would use District provided hotspots to connect to these LTE towers via the hotspots and convert it to usable Wi-Fi access. Students would then have the power of the school’s safe internet in their homes.

Why is the EduNet important?

Digital curriculum is the future and, in many cases, already here. Several of our students have poor or no access to the internet because of location and/or cost. This creates a homework gap that must be filled for our students to remain viable in the real world. Students that do not have access to high speed connectivity for mixed media content would be left behind. We are mandated to provide equitable access to digital curriculum for everyone. Educational organizations all over the nation are beginning these projects.
